We will always look to repair rather than replace. This is the most sustainable option, expertly repaired to provide an extended lifespan to the original item and potentially avoiding it unnecessarily going to landfill. Please help us with this and contact us before replacing or crediting something that could otherwise be saved.
In rare situations where we cannot repair an item to an acceptable standard, we will provide a suitable replacement. Depending on the condition, the item could end up in a number of places and we encourage the sending of ALL items back to us to be repurposed.
Repurposing of items could range from use by local homeless charities, to further afield locations such as Nepal to be used by Sherpas or remote mountain villagers. We may also refurbish or strip the worse-for-wear items for parts and fabric which can then be used for future repairs, extending the lifespan of other garments. Our final option is to recycle all that we can, with leftover fabric waste going to a local company whose work helps support the Air Ambulance service.
